A TAUNTON woman who assaulted two on-duty police officers in the exercise of their duty has been ordered not to drink any alcohol for 30 days.
Jane Amanda Jones, 50, of Greenway Avenue, pleaded guilty at Taunton Magistrates' Court to two counts of assaulting the officers in the county town on January 26.
Jones was given a community order, which included the instruction to "abstain from consuming alcohol for 30 days".
She was also ordered to carry out 40 hours unpaid work in the community and told to pay each officer £50 compensation.
PAUL Reason, 44, of no fixed address, admitted possessing cocaine in Bridgwater on July 18 last year He was detained in the courthouse and deemed to have served his sentence by reason of the time he had already spent in custody.
A BRIDGWATER man who admitted breaching a community order on a number of occasions was made the subject of a new and varied order.
As well as being ordered to complete 10 hours unpaid work in the community, Gheorghe Stroea, 29, of Polden Street, must pay £60 costs.
