A NEW café has launched in Bridgwater with a focus on "minimalist satisfaction", simple pleasures, and delicious hot drinks and baked goods.
Café Karma, which is located at 8-10 The Avenue, opened its doors to customers for the first time on January 23.
Its owners, Eresh Shrestha and Gita Thapa, decided to call their new venture Café Karma after being warmly welcomed to Bridgwater after moving to the town from London.
At the café's official opening, attended by the mayor of Bridgwater, councillor Leigh Redman, Erish and Gita said: "Café Karma is all about this town.
"When we moved from London, Bridgwater welcomed us both with a big smile and a warm heart and we thought this was karma, hence this café is all about good things in life.
"We are exploring the art of minimalist satisfaction and we strongly believe that there is nothing like the simple things in life, which is why we at Café Karma want to spread that word through our Illy coffe, homemade cakes, fresh sandwiches, and healthy smoothies."
The café offers a relaxed atmosphere for shoppers to sit in and enjoy their coffee, while there is a click-and-collect service and delivery options.
It also offers high-speed internet access, giving local people the option of working or studying at the café.
The Café Karma menu includes a range of hot drinks, such as espressos, americanos, lattés, cappuccinos, mochas and white mochas, and hot chocolates.
There is also a selection of smoothies and award-winning Teasup teas.
Discussing the café's launch, Cllr Redman said: "It is great when I can get out and support local businesses who are taking a chance.
"The couple that run this café are trying really hard to make a difference.
"The coffee is amazing and the cake is yummy.
"Bridgwater is very much open for business."
