MEMBERS of North Petherton Town Council have been planting trees and distributing commemorative mugs to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Three mature trees have been donated to North Petherton Primary School to mark the event.
Town councillors have also been busy distributing over 1500 commemorative mugs to the children in the area.
Boxes of the specially designed mugs were delivered to schools and nurseries in North Petherton, North Newton, Moorland, Wilstock, and Stockmoor to celebrate the Jubilee, as part of the town council’s response to this historical occasion, which also included setting aside over £2500 to support local events and projects.
