A MAN from Bridgwater has been fined £533 after pleading guilty to speeding on the A303 near Sparkford.
Aiden Christopher Hull, of Bristol Road, was clocked driving at 86mph in a Renault when the speed limit was 60mph for "a vehicle of that class".
Hull, 46, was three miles east of Sparkford when he committed the offence on September 10, 2021.
He pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure on Tuesday, March 22 and was sentenced by Bath Magistrates' Court on the same day.
The single justice procedure removes the need for the prosecutor and the defendant to attend court for a hearing and allows defendants to manage their cases in writing.
Hull was fined £533 and ordered to pay £90 in court costs and a £53 surcharge to fund victim services.
He has until May 3 to pay his total court bill of £676.
Hull was also handed four penalty points.
An alleged offence of failing to give identification relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required was withdrawn.
