TWO Bridgwater-based football teams are set to face each other in the men’s County Cup final tonight at the Athletic Ground in Wells - home of Wells City FC.
West Bower will take on Ramblers in the historic fixture which will crown the winners of the Somerset FA County Cup.
The two teams previously faced each other in the first game of the season, which resulted in an 8-1 win for West Bower.
Matt Prosser, left winger for Ramblers, sees tonight’s match as a chance for redemption.
He said: “We lost 8-1 to them. We’re sat three points behind them because of that game.
“We believe that we’ve got our best squad that we’ve ever had.”
All Bridgwater final is upon us!

James Salt, Ramblers full-back, joined the team in the round of 16 game against Robins FC, and quickly earned himself a starting role.
When questioned on the team’s success, he said: “We’ve been coming up against some good quality players but, as a squad, our togetherness made us win these games rather than just having a few standout players.”
Tonight is the first time two Bridgwater teams have ever faced each other in the cup final.
However, community spirit is not the Ramblers’ approach when it comes to football.
Prosser said: “There’s definitely a rivalry there, we hate each other for 90 minutes.”
Salt cited both teams’ roots in Bridgwater as the reason for their well-deserved spots in the cup final.
The match will kick off at 7:45pm tonight (Wednesday, April 6).
