A COUPLE of Police Community Support Officers waddled into action after three members of a pilates class rescued two ducklings that had fallen into a drain
PCSOs Tom and Sophie came across the three women after their class at Kingsdown Pavilion, in Bridgwater, on Tuesday morning (April 12).
They put the little fluffy birds, which had got lost from their mother, into a box.
They were then taken to Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre, in Highbridge, to be cared for.
There they discovered a new friend - another duckling that had been dropped off at the centre earlier in the week.
A Sedgemoor and Hinkley Point Neighbourhood Policing team spokesperson took to social media to say: "PCSO's 6512 Tom and 8585 Sophie came across three members of the pilates class at Kingsdown, Bridgwater, who had just rescued two ducklings after they’d fallen into a drain and got lost from their mother.
"The heroes managed to rescue the ducklings from the drain and put them safely into a box.
"Tom and Sophie tried to reunite the ducklings with their mum, but she could not be found so they assisted and took the ducklings to Secret World, Highbridge.
"Apparently another duckling was taken to Secret World this week, so the ducklings will now have a new friend."
