A CONMAN posing as a buyer has stolen a valuable Omega watch.
Police are appealing for help to trace the thief, who pocketed the timepiece in Bridgwater "a few weeks ago".
The victim agreed online to sell the watch to an unknown buyer.
They arranged to meet in the Woolavington Hill area at around 2pm on Sunday, March20.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "However, the 'buyer' made off with the watch without paying the agreed amount."
The crook is described as male, mixed race, more than 6ft tall, with short dark hair and approximately 35 to 45 years of age.
He was wearing dark clothes, a white face mask and in possession of a black man bag.
He made off with the watch in a Asda green and white bag.
CCTV enquiries are being undertaken.
The police spokesperson said: "We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has seen the watch for sale in the past couple of weeks, as well as anyone who may have seen the theft.
"If you can help our enquiries, please call 101 and give the call-handler reference number 5222066533."
