Japanese knotweed is a highly invasive perennial weed that can cause severe damage to both residential and commercial property, the Environet website says.
Research indicates that approximately five per cent of homes in the UK are affected by Japanese Knotweed, the website also says.
Japanese Knotweed can damage properties and also devalue them.
