AT the weekend the Somerset Cricket Foundation, in partnership with Bradford’s Building Supplies, held a series of community festivals for junior cricket players.
At Shapwick & Polden Cricket Club groups of U9s and U11s competed in a fun tournament in some warm weather.
Bradfords Community Festivals are an 8-aside competition inspired by The Hundred and played as countdown cricket.
The competition provided each team with an opportunity to practice, refine and challenge their skills in a friendly and sociable environment.
Involvement in the festivals could also lead to teams having the opportunity to play at County Ground on Sunday July 24.
According to the Somerset Cricket Foundation: "These festivals are a great opportunity for both All Stars and Dynamos graduates and those newer to cricket to play as part of their club team."
