THERE was a touch of nostalgia for Bridgwater Town Mayor when she officially re-opening a restaurant in the town.
The Nutmeg House, in Clare Street, was taken over by local owners Tina and Tony during the pandemic.
Their aim has been to build a family establishment that serves great food and coffee.
Following the expansion of the business, it is now opening on Friday and Saturday evenings with a full restaurant menu prepared and cooked by their chef Ian.
Tina said: "Ian is will known for his steaks and has gained quite a following.
"The Nutmeg has a full bar and wine list, as well as music licence and is available to hire out for private or family functions, family events and business, corporate and clubs events."
The official re-opening was carried out on Friday (June 10) by Bridgwater Town Mayor Cllr Liz Leavy.
She said: "I much enjoyed the official reopening of Nutmeg House especially as my cousin Pat, who originally opened the Nutmeg in 1978, was able to join us.
"Great food and a lovely atmosphere. Thank you very much to owners and staff."
