ON Saturday June 11 in the sunshine at BCA - Sports Development Centre 120 people took to court to play in a mixed tournament to raise money for Us, Duchenne and our super men and Mind.
12 teams were split into two pools, each team playing 5 games to determine the semi finalists, who then progressed onto a close matched final in front of a big crowd of spectators.
From all reports, the games were entertaining and challenging at times, but the most important thing was to have fun and from all the smiles on the court it seemed as though that was achieved.
Organisers from the event said: "Thank you to each and everyone one of you who came and played in the tournament as well as the spectators. Thank you for your support in buying raffle tickets and refreshments.
"Without the volunteers this event wouldn’t have been possible, thank you. To the umpires for all for giving up your time. Along with the Bridgwater Sea Cadets who helped set up, scored each match and did the central timing. We appreciate all the help from every volunteer and Queens netball club member, which helped the day run smoothly."
They added: "The biggest thanks goes to Dawn Guymer, Kate Atyeo, Ali Sanders and Alisha Gardener for organising such a wonderful event for two great charities."
