Petrol prices in Bridgwater have soared by around 30p per litre in the past three months.

In April, the cheapest station was at Morrison’s Bridgwater, which was charging 156.7p per litre at the time, according to petrolprices.com.

However, as of today, that same station is charging 189.7p per litre, an increase of 33p.

Many other petrol stations across Bridgwater and surrounding areas have also increased their prices.

We can also see the price surge in just a single month. One of the cheapest stations, Sainsbury’s Bridgwater, was charging 174.9p per litre in June. Now, in July, this has risen to 187.9p, an increase of 13p.

The cost of petrol is a great concern for many local people who are already struggling due to the cost-of-living crisis.

These new high prices are caused by a number of factors including the post-pandemic demand for fuel, as well as the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
