A BRIDGWATER woman who was driving at almost 30mph above the speed limit has avoided a ban.
Laura Claire Beardshaw, 41, of Tundra Walk, was caught travelling at 79mph on the A38 at Thurloxton and the A361 at Walford Cross on July 16 last year.
She was fined £300 with a £34 victim surcharge and £20 costs at Taunton Magistrates' Court.
But she was not banned after the court heard she is the sole carer for her children and losing her licence would have a detrimental impact on them and their school requirements.
