THIS summer there are plenty of opportunities for families and children to ‘Play with Clay’ at Somerset Brick and Tile Museum in Bridgwater.
There are also some special LEGO® and wetland-themed opening days.
For families, there are themed activities taking place throughout the holiday. Young artists will find plenty of ways to express their creativity with a variety of ‘Play with Clay’ crafts on offer.
These start with an opportunity to make a bee and flower-themed game on Tuesday, August 2.
On Tuesday, August 9 visitors can make a hanging-bird decoration out of clay, and on Tuesday, August 16 there will be a chance to make and decorate a clay plaque.
Visitors will also be able to get colourful with clay at a Pottery Painting day on Tuesday, August 30.
The Museum will have two special opening days. LEGO® enthusiasts will be able to enjoy Brick Day on Saturday, August 13.
Take part in fun family activities celebrating LEGO® bricks, see the LEGO® train set, take part in the LEGO® challenge and complete the LEGO® town trail around Bridgwater.
Wildlife fans can enjoy Wetlands Day on Thursday, August 18.
The Museum will welcome Joe May from Bridgwater Blue Heritage, a project working to boost Bridgwater’s blue wildlife and improve wellbeing through a connection to nature.
Learn about local wildlife and take inspiration from nature to create a wetland-themed clay tile.
Museum manager Marie Emmerson said: “Young visitors can play with clay, colour, and texture at a variety of themed activity days this summer. We can’t wait to see what their imaginations will bring to life through clay.”
