OVER 40 food and goods stalls will feature at this month's Bridgwater Independent Market on Sunday, July 31.
People have been encouraged to support local businesses at the monthly event, which was held for the first time in March.
Shoppers will be able to get their hands on products ranging from freshly made churros and Somerset honey to pamper boxes and homemade dog treats.
The market will be based in High Street and Fore Street between 10am and 3pm.
A market spokesperson wrote on Facebook: “Shop local and support local businesses this Sunday in Bridgwater and soak up the sights, sounds and wonderful aromas of the July edition of the Bridgwater Independent Market.
“Explore the whole of the centre of Bridgwater and show your support for all the amazing independent local businesses that will be open throughout the town!”
Another post added: “The town centre will be full of lots of local independent businesses from across Somerset selling food to go, street food, plants, ice creams, gifts, clothes, jewellery, cosmetics and more!
“Make sure you pop the date in your diary and bring your shopping bags with you on the day!”
Bridgwater Independent Market is organised by Michelle Beck of By Invitation Events.
The market follows in the footsteps of the popular Taunton Independent Market but aims to amplify Bridgwater's identity.
Before the market launched, Michelle said: “As a proud Somerset girl, I am hugely excited by this project and already have tremendous support from many local traders.
“With our high streets facing difficult times nationally, my aim is to see Bridgwater have a regular weekend market and to help get Bridgwater firmly on the map as a quality shopping and social destination.
“I am hoping the market will have around 60 stalls. I will bring with me the award-winning stalls we have in Taunton but I also want to attract Sedgemoor businesses.
“I am really excited for Bridgwater. With Hinkley and higher house prices, it really is an up-and-coming town.”
