THERE are no plans for a hosepipe ban in Somerset despite the above average dry spell.
Bans have been put in place or are imminent in other areas, but Wessex Water is confident we can keep the taps running without any restrictions.
Reservoir and groundwater levels are below average for this time of the year.
But the company says there are no supply problems and "there is currently no prospect of temporary use bans" in the patch it covers.
However, on social media it adds: "There is no hosepipe ban planned for our region but it’s still important to use water wisely.
"Water is a precious resource so whatever the weather it’s important to save water when we can."
