A GROUP of men who meet up in a 'shed' saved the day for a couple planning to marry in a local church.
Terry Linden and Emma Takle were given the devastating news that the bells would not be rung at their wedding in St Peter's Church, Combwich due to a broken piece of equipment in the belfry.
Step forward members of Community Men in Sheds Taunton (CMIST) who fixed the problem just in time to ensure Terry and Emma had the perfect day.
A desperate rector, the Rev Alison Waters, approached the team to see if they could come up with a solution to replace the broken slider.
And after a couple of weeks of hard thinking and work on the lathes, they did not disappoint, completing the work just in time.
John Thwaites, chairman of the Shed, said: "We are very happy to help the church and we are equally happy that we able to reuse recycled wood, keeping to our environmental policy.
"All the shed members wish to pass on our congratulations to the happy couple."
The Rev Waters said: "The newly formed bell ringers at Combwich church are so grateful to CMIST for their expertise and skill.
"Having the bells ring out through the village on Terry and Emma's wedding day was so important to them and it couldn't have happened without the 'shedders'."
CMIST have just moved to new premises at the Old Engineers Workshop, in Station Approach, Taunton, and are always delighted to welcome new members - further details at www.cmist.uk
