DEVON and Somerset Fire Service has extinguished a fire in the rear of a combine harvester in Cannington.
At 1pm today (August 7), fire control was alerted to the fire and sent fire engines from Bridgwater and Taunton to the scene.
It took approximately two hours to put out the believed accidental fire. The combine harvester was left with 10% fire and smoke damage.
The fire service said: "Fire Control received calls to a combine harvester on fire at Cannington.
"Two fire engines from Bridgwater and Taunton and a water bowser from Yeovil were mobilised.
"Fire crews confirmed a small fire in the rear of a combine harvester. Fire crews gained access using small tools and extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet.
"Approximately 10% of fire and smoke damaged was sustained to the vehicle. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental."
