FOR the first time since July 2019, runners from across Somerset joined locals to compete in the Pawlett Plod.
This year there were two races - the usual 10k event was organised by Highbridge Flooring and Burnham Harriers as part of the Somerset series of races, which raised money to support Rusty Road to Recovery.
The charity helps support people who are struggling with mental health issues.
In addition, this year, there was a fun run, staged to encourage and help support the Pawlett pre-school, which cares for the village toddlers.
Both charities were there on the night and their staff and supporters helped to run the two events.
The evening was a great success and raised more than £440 for Rusty Road to Recovery.
And Highbridge Flooring has added a further donation to bring the total up to £1,000. The Pawlett pre-school fun run raised over £640.
Cheques were presented on Saturday prior to the anniversary park run. After this success, there are plans to run the event again in July 2023.
