ON Bank Holiday Monday Enmore ran their annual fun Family Pro Am Day when 60 participants enjoyed the course and practised their golfing skills.
The weather was perfect for members and their guests to enjoy the course and a social get together afterwards.
It was fabulous to see family and friends playing golf together. Martyn Acland and his daughter Venetia were the winners, in second place Dominic Porter and his sons Ethan and Kaidan while in third place were Mike and Linda Rossiter.
Matt Kippen had the best gross score, Bertie Bilson was best junior and Claire Downs was best lady.
Bertie Billson who plays off a handicap of 27 was the winner of the Junior Medal at Enmore Park Golf Club with nett 67, five strokes ahead of Tom Canavan (0) with 72 while Rory Lake (21) was third on 74.
The Ladies Walker Plate Team Bowmaker (drawn for partners) was won by Mo Veale (21, Hilary Cockcroft (26) and Emma Sanders (43) with 87, three ahead of second placed Anne Elliott-Rose (27), Susan Hockley (24) and Irene Dickinson (20 who carded 84, while in third place on 83 were Sue Hales (19), Janet Lambert (25) and Linda Moore (33).
The Ladies Section 9 Hole Cha Cha Cha Team Competition was won by Lorna Walker (35), Paula Travis (26) and Annette Milroy (31) with 36 points, Pat Chapman ( 52), Chris Pashley and Kath Carr (43) were second with 29, while Mary Close and Claire Down who both play off 54 came third with18.
Thursday’s Club Stableford for Gents & Ladies attracted 102 entries and was won by Martyn Clapp (8) with 41 points, Brian Puddy (21) with 40 was second, while the next seven players all carded 39 points.
After count back it was Doug Read (17) who was third, Graham Croucher (16) was fourth, John Marchant (29) was fifth and Tom Pople (5) was sixth.
Enmore Park Seniors won both of the matches that they played last week.
On Tuesday, they entertained Weston super Mare who they beat 4-2 thanks to the winning pairs of Steve Rolph with Tim Smith, John Earp and Kevin Lewis , Keith Norcutt and Chris Willsteed, and Mike Rossiter with John Newell.
On Thursday, the Seniors travelled to Mendip Spring which, according to the new 'slope' system, is the most difficult course in Somerset, where they triumphed 5-3.
Four pairs won their matches, Pater Farnell and Keith Norcutt, John Earp with David Dickinson, Tony Pomeroy partnering Jess Lawrence and Chris Willsteed and Paul Waplington. Two groups halved their matches, Kevin Lewis with Mike Cavill and Ray Lukeski partnering John Newell.
