A TAUNTON restaurant will soon re-open under new management, bringing a taste of India to the county town.
The new restaurant, Somerset Masala, will open in Heron Gate (near the Odeon cinema and McDonald's drive-thru) on Friday, September 30.
The executive chef, Anil Panchal, has worked in top hotels around the world, giving him plenty of experience working with Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine.
Kazi Hoque, the restaurant's manager, believes Anil has created a modern yet authentic menu for local people to enjoy.
He said: “We hope to welcome everyone to experience Anil’s exquisite creations in the warm surroundings of the restaurant.”
The varied and vibrant menu offers classic dishes like beef kala bhuna, tandoori king prawns, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala.
There is also a children's menu, plus an offer for children under seven to eat for free on its ‘Sunday Family Days’.
Somerset Masala is offering restaurant customers 25 per cent off all food orders during its opening week (September 30 to October 7).
The restaurant is also offering an opening night special set menu, including papadoms, a choice of starter, any main course, and any rice or naan.
Guests can also enjoy live music on its opening night and Saturday, October 1.
The restaurant previously housed Royal Taste, Tiffins Indian Buffet and Restaurant, and Mandarian, a Chinese buffet restaurant.
