THE Bandstand in Blake Gardens, Bridgwater will be getting a make-over, starting on October 10.
Local contractor, Bagnall’s, will be carrying out the works which are anticipated to take two to three weeks depending on the repairs needed and the weather.
Sedgemoor District Council has confirmed that the works will repair any defective parts and will leave the bandstand much improved.
They said: "All surfaces will be power-washed, the roof tiles will be cleared of moss, any defective woodwork will be repaired and everything will be painted.
"Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this routine maintenance work."
The Bandstand is the location for the popular local music festival the Blake Gardens Music Festival.
In 2018, then Bridgwater Town Council leader, Brian Smedley, said the aim for Blake Gardens is to make it "a more attractive area for people to visit and make it a real hub for the community”.
Most recently the Bandstand played host to the Bridgwater Quayside Festival on Saturday, July 9.
The festival this year included a Stories of Strength project that highlighted the tales of people living in the Bridgwater area and a children's parade in Blake Gardens.
