A MAN from Taunton will run 30 miles for its 30th birthday to raise funds for a hospice in memory of his grandad.
Troy Webster, who will turn 30 on October 23 when the challenge will also take place, will run along the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal to help St Margaret’s Hospice, which looked after his grandad.
He said his aim is to recognise the “excellent service” provided by the hospice and “inspire others”.
Troy said: “For my 30th birthday, I have decided to run 30 miles along the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal in recognition of St Margaret’s Hospice.
“I have chosen St Margaret’s because of the excellent service they continue to deliver for those with life-limiting illnesses.
“They took great care of my grandad a few years ago during his final days.
“Running has become a way of keeping myself feeling healthy, both mentally and physically during the past couple of years.
“As well as raising money for St Margaret's Hospice, I would like to inspire others to endure a challenge.
“The run will take place on Sunday, October 23 starting at 7:30am in Priorswood before running along the canal to Bridgwater and back.
"I am planning to come back in Priorswood around noon."
