SCORES of motorists in Avon and Somerset who mistakenly believed an urban myth are to face their day in court.
Officers from the force's Roads Policing Unit caught 134 drivers speeding in prfe-dawn crackdowns over three days.
A spokesperson for the unit posted on social media: "A popular misconception is speed enforcement cannot take place once the sun has set!
"@ASPolice deployed its infra-red tech ‘Orpheus’ during the @PoliceChiefs Speed Op.
"Last 3 pre-dawn sessions resulted in 134 notices for excess speed many of which will be going straight to court."
