POLICE have arrested a man after another man was struck over the head with a glass bottle close to the rear of Palace nightclub in Bridgwater.

The incident occured in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, October 27 on Penel Orlieu.

A 20-year-old man from London has been arrested in connection with the investigation, however the identity of the victim is still unknown.

Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for the victim of the attack to come forward.

A spokesperson from the police said: "We’re appealing for a victim of an assault in Bridgwater to come forward and speak with us.

"An unknown man was struck over the head with a glass bottle during a disorder, which happened in Penel Orlieu, close to the rear of the Palace nightclub, sometime between 2.30am and 3am on Thursday, October 27.

"A 20-year-old man from London has been arrested in connection with this investigation and has been released under investigation for enquiries to continue.​
