BRIDGWATER United were without a game at the weekend due to a waterlogged pitch however that gave the squad added rest ahead of their big fixture this Friday.
The Robins are set to host Cribbs in the Third Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy on Friday, December 3 at Fairfax Park.
A win in this match would see them create history as it would be the first time they have advanced to the Fourth Round of the FA Trophy.
In 1969–70, and 1972–73 seasons they made the Third Round but were knocked out on both occasions.
The Fourth Round is also the round of 32 in the competition, so there truly is a lot riding on this fixture.
Cribbs come into the match currently sat in first place in the Uhlsport Hellenic League and have lost just once in their 18 league fixtures this season.
At the weekend just gone, they were victorious 0-1 away against Worcester Raiders so they will come into this game in high spirits.
Manager Dave Pearse said his team are ready for the match.
"We have have been in good form this season and we have showed different ways to win matches," he said after their recent match against Barnstaple.
"The new signings have been great for us at a good time as well.
"Jack Thorne up front showed energy and hunger today, he could have had a couple more goals today I think.
"And Sam Towler is exactly what we thought he would be, work rate and experience. He was brilliant today, they both were and we are delighted with that."
In terms of injuries, Tom Lewellyn and George King both picked up knocks. “Tom has had a groin problem and King has a hamstring issue. But we are lucky now as we have a break, we will probably only train once a week for now.
“We will focus on rest and recovery for now, we have played a lot of games recently and hopefully we will have everyone back fit for the FA Trophy match.”
That FA Trophy match is scheduled for Friday, December 2 at Fairfax Park against Cribbs First.
