A VILLAGE'S Christmas fayre featuring local traders has raised more than £300 for the Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance Charity.
The fayre was held at St Mary's Church on Saturday, November 26 and was organised by the Quantock Quilters & Textiles group.
More than 200 people visited to browse and buy from around 20 local art and craft stalls and take part in a tombola and Christmas food hamper raffle.
Guests also enjoyed home-made cakes, mince pies and sausage rolls.
A group spokesperson said: “Over 200 people came and supported us and all the local crafts people who came to sell their wares.
“A good time was had by all and we managed to raise over £300 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
“We are delighted with the results and hopefully we will hold another fayre next year.”
Quantock Quilters & Textiles holds meetings on the second and fourth Monday of each month (except public holidays) between 1pm and 4pm at St Mary's Church Centre.
The friendly group helps people plan and make quilts. It has a sewing machine available for beginners and specialist rulers and cutting boards.
It holds in-house workshops for its members and occasionally invites guest speakers to hold workshops on special quilt blocks.
