THE recent very wet weather has put paid to  competitive golf at Enmore Park so Lady Captain Jackie Woodman who hands over to Jo Wyatt in a couple of weeks time has reflected on her special year.

“We brought the Lady Captains Drive-In back to kick off the year in February followed by one of my key events, the Charity Day, where we saw all the ladies dressed in purple to reflect the colour of the Charity.

“One of my favourite events of the year was my Lady Captains’ Day with the theme of the Queens’ Jubilee.  There wasn’t a better way to celebrate the day with everyone dressed up as Queens, Guards and ladies dressed in Union Jack Flags in addition to which we also saw Corgi’s on the fairway.  Enmore Ladies certainly know how to get into the spirit of a themed day.”

The Lady Captain went on: “What I am most proud of is choosing the Charity of Papyrus which supports young people who are fighting thoughts of suicide.

“When I saw the three Dads who all lost their daughters to suicide, walking the lengths of the UK to bring this to everyone’s attention, it didn’t take me long to decide that my support would be going towards this Charity.

“Thank you to all the members who have supported me in raising a little over £4,000 in my Captains Year.   What it has also done is raised the awareness of what it is like to be facing these challenges.

“Thankfully the weather has been favourable for many of our competitions in which we see on average 55 or more ladies playing week on week.   What a great section to be part of. “

Jackie added:  “It has been a great year for me and I wish Jo every success for this year."
