TWO passengers on a double decker bus that flipped onto its side last week are still in hospital.

A total of 56 people travelling on the bus as it ferried workers to Hinkley Point C needed hospital treatment following the incident on the A39 near Cannington.

A motorbike was also involved in the crash but no one suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

A major incident was declared following the incident last Tuesday (January 17).

An spokesperson for EDF Energy, which is operating the Hinkley Point C project, told the BBC: "Two people remain in hospital recovering from their injuries following last week's bus incident.

"We continue to provide support to all involved and our thoughts are very much with them.

"Safety of our workforce is of paramount importance to us, and we are working with the police to understand the exact cause of the incident."
