BRIDGWATER Town Council held a successful Cultural Dish Share event on Tuesday, featuring a visit from members of the neighbourhood policing team.

The event was held at the town hall during a community drop-in session.

A Bridgwater Town Council spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who came along to our cultural dish share today at the town hall which was a huge success.

"We were overwhelmed with the number of people who popped in for a bite to eat, sampling dishes from all over the world."

Some of the popular dishes included the Welsh cawl, Japanese sweet buns and Irish soda bread, all prepared and donated by members of the community.

Local police officers took part in the event during their foot and bike patrols in the town centre.

They expressed their gratitude in a Facebook post which said: "Many thanks to the residents of Bridgwater who cooked and donated lots of lovely dishes for the Cultural Share a Dish event at the Town Council.
