CREWS from Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service have saved the life of a pony stuck in a water-filled ditch.
At around 1.17pm on Saturday, July 23, crews received a call about the trapped pony, located in Bridgwater Without.
Control mobilised a specialist rescue team from Exmouth and a fire engine from Bridgwater to rescue the pony.
In order to rescue the animal, crews had to use the following equipment:
- Dry suits.
- Telehandler.
- Water and animal rescue equipment.
They were able to successfully rescue the animal, who was given back to its owner and seen by a vet.
