TRIBUTES have been paid to a 69-year-old man who died in a fatal collision on the A39 earlier this week.
Barry Hammond passed away on Monday, August 7 in a collision between a lorry carrying livestock and the purple Vauxhall he was driving between Fiddington and Cannington at about 6.35am.
Barry, who was from Nether Stowey, received medical treatment but was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His family were notified and are being supported by a specially-trained officer.
His daughter Kimberley said: “My dad was the most amazing and kindest man I have ever met.
“He was loved by all who knew him and we are all devastated by his passing.”
Julie, in tribute to her husband, said: “I’m going to miss you terribly; I have loved you ever since we were married and that will never change. I wish you were here with me to take away the pain.
“You are in heaven now, all my love and kisses. You will never be forgotten and will always be in my heart.”
The lorry driver is not believed to have sustained serious physical injury.
