NEARLY 20 planning applications were submitted to Somerset Council last week for Sedgemoor, covering the Bridgwater and Burnham areas. 

The proposals will be considered by the Somerset North committee, one of five within the Somerset Council unitary authority. 

Among them are plans to bring 10 electric vehicle chargers to the Regional Rural Business Centre at Market Way, North Petherton. 

They would be created on an area that is currently used as four HGV parking spaces and a small patch of grassland. 

Outline plans have also been submitted that would see 17 flats built in Highbridge town centre on the site of two existing detached buildings. 

If the proposals get the green light, 16 of the new flats would have one bedroom, and the other flat would have two bedrooms.
