A VEGETARIAN organisation is urging people in Sedgemoor to go vegan and help save the planet.
South-West organisation Viva! claims if the population of Sedgemoor went vegan for a year, 65,000 fewer tonnes of damaging gases would be produced.
Tony Wardle, Viva's associate director, said: "The most effective thing anyone can do to help the planet is to go vegan."
Vegetarian Gail Woolfenden, from Woolavington, said: "If as many local people as possible reduced the amount of meat and dairy they ate, or went veggie or vegan, we could help ensure the world and all its species have a future."
