A HANDFUL of pubs are on the market in the Bridgwater area – and they could be yours, for the right price. 

The five pubs are listed on Rightmove, the UK's largest online property portal, and range in price from £245,000 to £1.25 million.

Five pubs for sale in Bridgwater area 

Admiral's Table, Bristol Road, Bridgwater (£1,250,000) 

Marston's Brewery put 61 of its pubs up for sale in March, including the Admiral's Table, which is on the market with Christie & Co. 

The Rightmove listing describes it as a “two-storey detached building with 55 parking spaces, including three disabled, and a beer garden with 48 covers”.

It adds: “There are four trading areas, with 130 restaurant covers and 15 bar covers and a commercial catering kitchen.

“On the first floor are the 14 letting rooms. There is also a separate three-bed terraced house which is used as staff accommodation.”

The Admiral's Table continues to welcome customers, including for its popular Sunday carvery, and tables and rooms can be booked online.

London Inn, Fore Street, Othery (£450,000) 

The London Inn closed in January 2022 and is on the market with Sidney Phillips. 

Announcing the closure, landlady Sarah Soutar said: “It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to close with immediate effect. 

“We would like to apologise to the loyal customers who have supported us and who genuinely wanted us to remain open.”

The pub has adjoining bar and dining areas, which can comfortably seat 50 people.

The owners' accommodation comprises a three bedrooms, a sitting room and a bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and a separate shower cubicle. 

Outside, there is a car park with space for around seven vehicles, a rear courtyard and several outbuildings, including a skittle alley.

Ring O'Bells, Pit Hill Lane, Moorlinch (£475,000) 

The Ring O'Bells, located around eight miles from Bridgwater, is on the market with Sidney Phillips with a guide price of less than half a million pounds. 

It has been described as a “traditional country village public house” with a bar, restaurant, large skittle alley, car park and large lawned gardens. 

There is also five-bedroom accommodation for the owners.

Owners Clive and Trish, who have been at the Ring O'Bells since 2002, have recently started to promote the pub's Christmas menu, which launches on December 5.

Basonbridge Inn, Church Road, Bason Bridge (£470,000)

The Basonbridge Inn has been under its current owners since 2007 and has become a “busy community-driven free house with many house teams, including 13 skittles teams”. 

The pub is boosted by its proximity to five campsites that are popular with tourists visiting the Somerset coast. 

Describing the pub, the Rightmove listing says: “The present owners have run the business up to retirement and now open on limited hours.

“Food tends to be offered only in the summertime.

“There is much scope for new owners to open longer hours and expand the food offering.”

Sportsman Inn, Bath Road, Bridgwater (£245,000)

The Sportsman Inn benefits from its location near Fairfax Park, home of Bridgwater United, and College Way, which hosts Bridgwater & Albion Rugby Club.

As the name suggests, the pub is particularly popular with local sports teams. 

The property is on the market with Fleurets, a specialist in the leisure property market.
