A PLANNING application has been submitted to Somerset Council to build 49 new homes in Burnham-on-Sea.
Bridgwater based Notaro New Homes Ltd have applied to build new houses on the field behind Cavalla Mews, in Berrow.
Consultation of the plans begun today (Thursday, October 12), although approval to build the housing estate could be granted by as soon as Wednesday, November 15.
A redacted design and access statement submitted to Somerset Council states the 49 new homes would be built on 3.6 hectares of the historically agricultural land which sits to the East of the Cavalla Mews site.
It is proposed that 20 of the 49 new buildings will be affordable dwellings.
The new estate would be made up of a mixture of flatted, detached, and semi-detached houses.
There are also plans to build associated garages, streets, parking areas, and a communal green space within the site.
Notaro New Homes Ltd hope to combat potential surface water issues by installing a new sustainable drainage system.
Updates to the application can be viewed by searching for the application number 05/23/00011 on the Somerset Council website.
Comments on the application are open until November 14.
