ORGANISERS of Bridgwater Carnival have announced this year's event will feature a new official viewing area for wheelchair users.
Although the roadside viewing areas are deemed generally accessible for those with wheelchairs, the carnival will open a dedicated area on Mount Street.
Spaces in the wheelchair user area are limited - to book a reservation or for more information, email: disabled.viewing@bridgwatercarnival.org.uk.
A spokesperson for Bridgwater Carnival said: "Following public feedback, we have introduced a dedicated and official viewing area on Mount Street (near the cinema) for wheelchair users as a trial in 2023."
It should be noted that the wheelchair user viewing area at Cross Rifles will not be in use this year.
The two official Bridgwater Carnival park and ride services running from Dunball and North Petherton have been adapted especially to be suitable for wheelchair users.
