TWO cars have been involved in an accident on the M5 southbound between J22 (Burnham on Sea) and J23 (Bridgwater).

National Highways have revealed recovery crews attended the scene, and traffic was stopped as they worked to right an overturned caravan.

National Highways stated: "There are two of three lanes closed.

"The event is expected to clear between 13:00 and 13:15 on 2 November 2023

"Return To Normal Normal traffic conditions are expected between 13:45 and 14:00 on 2 November 2023."

The crash site was cleared and all lanes re-opened at around 1:15pm.

A map from Traffic England showed traffic between J22 and J23 on the M5 southbound had come to a standstill.

The map also shows the site of the accident, which appears to be nearer to J22 Burnham-on-Sea.
