THIS is the man who enabled North Petherton Carnival to go ahead following spectators' fears it was going to be cancelled.

Thousands of people feared the worst at Saturday's (November 11) annual event when organisers announced police and the fire service would not allow it to start at the scheduled 7pm.

Word got around that the delay was due to a gas leak on Taunton Road.

But Andy from Wales and West Utilities answered the call as the crowd waited patiently.
