BRIDGWATER will step into Christmas on Saturday, November 25 when the popular Snowflakes and Shopping event returns.
The town's Christmas lights will be switched on at 6pm by the mayor, councillor Mick Lerry, at the Cornhill, followed by a fireworks display.
At 6.30pm, there will be squibbing – a unique spectacle made famous by Bridgwater Carnival – on the Town Bridge.
Before that, shoppers will be able to browse more than 60 stalls, ranging from locally made gin and cheese to jewellery and painted glass.
There will also be plenty of hot food and sweet treats on offer, such as pizza, churros, crêpes, scotch eggs and doughnuts.
The day is organised by the town council in partnership with Bridgwater Food and Drink Festival.
Festival organiser Paul Russell said: “Bridgwater Food and Drink Festival is looking forward to the fourth and last event of 2023.
“This is our best Christmas line-up to date with a great mixture to please all.
“Stallholders will be busy over the next few weeks planning and many are taking pre-orders to be picked up on the day.
“For information on how to contact any stallholder please email bridgwaterfoodanddrink@gmail.com.”
The stalls will be open between 10am and 7pm.
Snowflakes and Shopping visitors can also expect late night shopping, a fireworks display and a visit from Father Christmas.
