IT was a truly Christmassy Saturday in Bridgwater as the much-loved Snowflakes and Shopping event descended on the town once again.
The Bridgwater Food and Drink Festival kicked off festive festivities from 10am selling tasty treats ranging from cakes and pies to thoughtful Christmas gifts.
Food festival organiser Paul Russell said: "We asked for support from the general public and to bring our town centre alive, and they did.
"From the start of the day until the end it was great to see families out enjoying themselves.
"Footfall at this event is the best we have seen at any of our events, and we will use that and the success of all the events in 2023 to continue build into 2024.
"We would like to thank everyone for all the help and support.
"Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas."
In the evening, families and friends congregated to Fore Street and Cornhill to watch the Christmas lights be switched on for the first time this year.
This was followed up by yet another awe-inspiring squibbing display on the Town Bridge to round off the day's events.
