A popular road in North Petherton is set to undergo a temporary closure for roadworks.

Somerset Council, under its powers from the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has proposed an order to close Hulkshay Lane, barring all traffic from using the road.

The closure is to allow Openreach to replace a pole.

This was revealed after a public notice was posted on the Public Notice Portal last week.

Works are expected to begin on December 20, running for eight hours, between 8.30am to 4.30pm.

The road is then expected to reopen to motorists afterwards.

There's no alternative route during the closure.

The works promoter will liaise directly with residents and businesses about access.
