SOMERSET Council has announced the temporary closure of a footpath in Bridgwater, starting from Monday, January 22.
A notice on the Public Notice Portal says the footpath will be closed for six months, but a sign next to the path says it will be for six weeks.
The closure of Footpath BW23/69, spanning 190 metres from its intersection with Taunton Road/Marsh Lane to the road adjacent to the Argos Depot, is required for the installation of a shared pedestrian and cycleway.
An alternate route during this period will start at the Marsh Lane/Taunton Road junction, continuing towards the Huntspill Roundabout on Taunton Road, then veering left onto Huntworth Business Park.
The diversion ends after approximately 755 metres.

The action is authorised under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 and the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
