Plans for a new HMO next to the town's old Royal Mail office are among the schemes people are trying to get planning permission for in Somerset.
Every week, hundreds of planning applications are submitted to Somerset Council for determination – and we have selected some of the most interesting proposals.
Friarn Street has seen relatively high levels of interest from housing developments in recent years, with plans for 43 flats being approved in December 2021 and a proposal for a 16-bed HMO being recently submitted.
Nigel Guppy has now put forward plans for a new 30-bed HMO on land next to the town’s Royal Mail delivery office.
The official address for the plans is 23 Friarn Street, Bridgwater.
The site, to the rear of Ivy House, already has permission in place for 13 dwellings – which may expedite a decision on these housing proposals.
Locals can view and comment on the planning application by searching for the planning reference number - 08/23/00379 on the council's website.
