TOOLSTATION raised over £700,000 for its charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support in 2023.

The revenue came from various efforts by the British supplier, which has its head officer based in Bridgwater.

Since launching their partnership three ago, Toolstation has raised over £2,000,000 to help fund physical, financial and emotional support for individuals living with cancer across the UK.

Fundraising took place across the business, with involvement from colleagues and customers at its distribution centres, head office and more than 550 stores nationwide.

Toolstation employees participated in the London Marathon in April, garnering over £90,000.

A team of 20 tackled the Tough Mudder challenge in August, adding another £8,000 to the fund.

The Brave the Shave campaign, where several colleagues shaved their heads for Macmillan Cancer Support, also contributed, including Fiona Staples from the Contact Centre, who raised over £1,000.

There were other initiatives, including a 563-mile walk in March hosted by Toolstation’s finance team and a 992-mile dog walk challenge in May, which helped reach the £2,500 goal for this year.

Throughout 2023, regular store raffles, bake sales, fancy dress days and Macmillan Coffee Mornings were just some of the events organised by employees, with the help of customer and colleague donations.

In addition to these efforts, Toolstation collaborated with micro-donation charity Pennies, allowing customers to add on a donation to their purchases when paying by card or contactless.

This resulted in over 650,000 micro-donations for 2023, amounting to £210,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

All of these efforts raised a grand total of £743,000 for the charity.

Toolstation’s managing director, Angela Rushforth said: "It’s amazing to think that we've raised so much money thanks to the generosity of our customers and colleagues.

"The wonderful work and support that Macmillan provides helps so many people and we're so pleased that the £743,000 raised will continue to support the charity in its efforts to be there for everyone living with or affected by cancer."

Kate Goldman-Toomey, director of corporate partnerships & philanthropy at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "We are extremely grateful for Toolstation, and its unwavering commitment to raising vital funds for Macmillan.

"It is the generous support of the public and valued partners like Toolstation that allows us to continue doing whatever it takes to give people living with cancer the support they need, when they need it most.

"We can't thank Toolstation colleagues and customers enough for their steadfast support."

Toolstation also supported other charity initiatives alongside Macmillan.
