A TRADITIONAL pub in a village near Bridgwater with a rich local history is looking for new operators.

The Combwich Anchor, near Cannington, is currently on the market for lease and could be yours.

It's the only pub in the village of Combwich, and is located just five miles away from the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station.

The 18th century building remains largely untouched inside and out, with exposed stone interior walls and wooden beams across its ceilings.

The main bar features an exposed fireplace, along with wine bottle storage, and seating for 50 people.

There is also a library area of similar aesthetic with seating for up to 20 people.

As well as its traditional and cosy interior, the pub features 14 letting rooms, three of which were previously used as owners' accomodation, and could be converted back if desired.

The eleven exterior letting rooms are all double sized with walk in shower rooms and small kitchenettes.

There is also a large car park, and patio seating area, along with a rooftop terrace with views of the River Parrett.

In 1999, more than 100 locals signed a petition against plans to convert the 18th century ale house into a private home.
