Pupils and staff at Stogursey C of E Primary School have celebrated World Book Day by dressing up in fancy dress – even as characters from stories they wrote themselves.
The celebration took place today (March 7) at Stogursey C of E Primary School.
Mr Tucker, the headteacher, said: "Happy World Book Day from everyone at Stogursey Primary School and pre-school!
"We have lots of amazing characters wandering round school today, especially some of our children who have come dressed up as characters from their own books that they have written!
"Their imaginations are really incredible."
He mentioned that the children were excited to explore the books they brought from home and share their stories.
World Book Day's mission is to foster a love for reading and promote every child's chance to own a book, improving their future opportunities.
World Book Day was created by UNESCO in April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading.
World Book Day is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. The first World Book Day in the UK and Ireland took place in 1997.
