A FIREFIGHTER who has worked at three fire stations in Somerset over his 30 year career has retired.
Watch Manager Chris Pearce, of Green watch Taunton, served all of the wholetime stations in Somerset over his career, including Taunton, Bridgwater, and Yeovil.
On Sunday, March 31, Chris was presented his certificate of service, and plaque from SM Nathan Brina.
He was then presented with the traditional firefighters axe from members of his watch.
A spokesperson for Taunton Fire Station said: "Have a long, healthy, and happy retirement Chris.
"Many thanks for your service!"
A Facebook post from Taunton Fire Station marking the occasion received over 200 likes, and tributes from the public poured in via the comments.
A spokesperson for Minehead Fire Station said: "Best wishes Chris from 66 Minehead Fire Station. Great innings."
Several former co-workers of Chris also took to the comments to express their appreciation for his service.
