West Somerset Brass Band recognised standout performers who contributed to their success over the last year.
At a recent AGM, Kath Mann received the 'Bandsman of the Year' accolade.
This was due to her role as band librarian, her involvement with the training band and learner group, and contributions to the tenor horn section.
Abbi Peters, 2nd trombone player since 2017, won the 'Most Improved Player' title, awarded the prestigious Pete Wilson shield for consistent presence and commitment.
The band is also proud of its Training Band, serving as a learning space for potential musicians.
This year's 'Most Improved Training Band Member', the Alex Hollweg Trophy, was jointly given to Alastair Harrison and Joshua Symes.
Despite starting as learners in February 2023, both have shown noticeable improvement, with Mr Symes joining the main band, and Mr Harrison advancing to main band rehearsals.
The band appreciates the dedication and growing assurance of these performers that symbolises the training program's positive atmosphere.
