A popular horse racing event is set to conclude the season.

The Wessex Area Point to Point season will conclude at Cothelstone with a traditional evening meeting organised by the Weston & Banwell with West Somerset Vale.

The final meeting is set to take place on Wednesday and has attracted 141 entries.

The first race of the evening is scheduled for 4.30pm with early bird tickets available at £12.50 per person until the weekend, after which the price will increase to £15 on the gate.

The event will also feature two Wessex Pony Racing Finals before the main races.

The Alec Jarrett Ltd sponsored Conditions race entries include Another Furlough, who achieved two seasonal victories at Badbury Rings and Milborne St Andrew.

Another entry, All Loved Up, won her debut race for Hugh Lillingston but later faced formidable competition in Southfield Theatre and Walkin Out.

Nine-time winner Country Legend seeks good ground conditions to perform at her best.

The Maiden race, sponsored by the Westminster Society, has 38 entries with Badbury Rings having a close second place to All Night Parking at Flete Park.

Canyouseeme is another promising candidate, coming from the in-form Luke Price yard known for its successful engagement in Wessex fixtures.

Meanwhile, the Trevor Savage Memorial Novice Riders Race features 14 entries such as Siberian Star from the successful team of Tim and Ed Vaughan.

Siberian Star's recent form against Pink Eyed Pedro and The Kings Writ is respectable, though he is yet to secure a victory.

The Ladies Open, sponsored by the Clifton Club, has drawn in 13 entries with Ninth Wave, trained by Teresa Clark and ridden by Molly Landau, showing promise due to her buoyant performance this season.

In the Maxwell Chartered Accountants Men’s Open, with 14 entries, Dr Rhythm is a standout contender, having resumed winning at South Hill.

Additionally, six-time winner Shantou Flyer, Pink Eyed Pedro and Young Buck are expected to provide significant competition.

The final race of the evening, a Maiden Conditions race, is sponsored by Junction 24 & Thorne Farm Racing.

The race includes a variety of entries, promising an exciting finale to the Point to Point season, with Alan Hill’s Machu Picchu in particular showing promise.
